Riding the bus in the Metro.
November 1, 2008
Buses are the only means of public transportation that I RARELY use in Metro Manila. I don’t know why really. I guess it’s because I have taken comfort in the relatively smaller sized vehicles.
Yesterday, I was along Espana waiting for a ride back to Philcoa when a savvy looking bus approached the waiting shed I was at. I hesitated for a bit then figured, what the heck! The seats were nice and comfortable and it was air-conditioned too! Lords! They were even playing a new action movie DVD which starred Steven Segal. Get this, for only P16! Well worth it! Swear. Next time I’m along Espana, I’m taking the bus again.
I ended up at the Cubao shuttle terminal to head to the province at around 3pm. The lines were LONG! UBERLY LONG!!! And shuttles were nowhere in sight! I felt like I waiting forever for nothing! Grrr! It was soooooooo smart of me to opt to leave in the afternoon when everyone’s rushing to head back to their respective provinces for the November 1 weekend.
After waiting in line for an hour plus, I decided to head to the Baliuag Transit bus terminal. I just wanted to get out of the city! There was a bus headed to a different town of my province. Seats were no longer available but the barker was still inviting people to hop on and stand. HA! Out of sheer desperation, I jumped for it. I’d rather stand in a moving vehicle than to stand in a non-moving line.
Wild! My mother was a bit horrified when I told her my latter story. She told me not to do that again. Whoops!
Definitely an experience to remember. If there’s a will, there’s a way! =P Nah, I’m just getting myself ready for the Amazing Race Asia. Huihuihui!
For someone who rarely uses the bus, I rode it twice in one day. Good job!
